Plastics and composites

DYNA-MESS testing machines can be used for static and dynamic tests on plastic and composite components.

Static and dynamic properties

Zugprüfung FaserverbundwerkstoffStatic tests are useful to investigate many characteristics of a material like stiffness at different operating points. Dynamic tests - or vibration tests - are useful to investigate the material behavior under cyclic force. A dynamic test can be defined as a cyclic load with or without pre-load. Typical properties that can be measured are:

  • Static properties
  • Hysteresis
  • Stiffness at different operating points
  • Dynamic stiffness
  • Loss angle
  • Damping
  • Strength loss
  • ....

Individual and fatigue tests

During those tests, the properties of the material are investigated under a long-term test to characterize the fatigue behavior. By continuously recording the data throughout the experiment, it is possible to have a statement not only about the type of damages or a change in the test parameters but also, the evolution of the damages or parameters while performing the test. All data are automatically recorded by DYNA-MESS software for further analysis.

Laboratory and serial testing

The test machines can be designed to do research and development in a laboratory or to be part of the production line for quality control inspections. Production integrated testing machines can be equipped with a feed system as a conveyor belt for example.

Cost-efficient servo-pneumatic and performance servo-hydraulic

Depending of the tests requirements (load, frequency, stroke), DYNA-MESS testing machines are designed with a servo-pneumatic or servo-hydraulic drives. The cost-efficient servo-pneumatic drive can be used for tests with a frequency up to 35Hz. For higher frequency and load, servo-hydraulic drives are used.

Single and multiaxial loads

Both uniaxial and multiaxial load can be applied. For example, it is possible to combine two linear actuators to generate torsion and tension stresses on a part.
