Testing the pedal system and foot lever mechanism
DYNA-MESS test systems are used for testing pedals and foot controls. In addition to fatigue vibration tests on the pedal, fatigue function tests are primarily carried out on the entire foot lever mechanism, in which the fatigue strength of the pedal and the long-term functional reliability of bearings, master cylinders, springs, etc. are analysed. Modern technologies such as brake-by-wire are tested and further developed on specially developed test benches.

Tests
Pedal operation
The pedal is operated in a combined displacement/force control mode. After moving to a predefined pedal position, the system switches to force control in order to apply the desired maximum force. The DYNA-MESS testing software allows the user to specify all necessary parameters such as positions, forces and load speeds.
Counterforce simulation
In the blocking test, the pedal is mechanically fixed and subjected to vibrations at frequencies of up to 5 Hz. This test is used to analyse the fatigue strength of the pedal.
Environmental simulation
The DYNA-MESS electronics also take over the parameterisation and control of heating and climate chambers, which enable mechanical testing under temperature (typically -40°C to 80°C) and humidity.
Testing in the vehicle
Servopneumatic test axes can also be used for in-vehicle testing. This means that the entire real system, consisting of the pedal system, connected actuator (brake, clutch, etc.) and the mechanical connection of the pedal system to the chassis, is available for testing.

The DYNA-BPS testing machine is used for dynamic component testing on electric brake pedals.
